Our third child is born and so this blog. I’m writing this blog the second night our baby was delivered safely onto this world and all else are already fast asleep, including our baby, here in Butuan Doctors Hospital in Butuan City.
Thirty six hours ago, my wife Manette was already in the labor room working hard to deliver our third child whose sex is all unknown to us in the family except of course by her OB Gyne, Dra. Gamutan. We made sure that no one else would know the sex other than her OB Gynecologist. After all, we already have a girl named Mariella, a 4-year old intelligent, smart and beautiful kiddo, who is the eldest among the siblings and a boy named Miko, born some 18 months ago. We agreed on the third child’s sex to be kept as a secret as to provide some spice to the waiting and finally to the delivery of the baby.
My father Julian predicted that this third baby is a girl. He based his prediction on the Chinese calendar and map which provides an idea on what to expect if a child is born on a given month and year based on the parents’ dates & year of birth. When my father discovered this calendar sometime late in 2008, we were waiting for our second child to be born. My father predicted that our second child who was about to be born on February of 2009 will be a boy. Indeed he came out to this world as what my father had predicted. After all, this prediction was tested in China with 95% accuracy. It was reported in a newspaper that in China, the prediction based on this calendar was true as it has began monitoring Chinese hospitals since then.
I thought it was really amazing as somehow you can really manipulate “MATHEMATICALLY” the sex of your child based on that calendar. This is very helpful when you want your child to be a boy or a girl. All the parents have to do is select the date and month for their honeymoon based on that calendar and then wait for another 9 months and hurrah, you’ll have the baby you wanted. Of course there is the 5% chance it would turn out as incorrect.
About seven months before, my father reviewed his calendar and found out that this third child we are waiting would be a girl. Wow, Miko will be the lone Dellosa then, as the wife of my brother Jesse delivered also a baby girl last September 3, 2009. It should be mentioned that my father also predicted this as a baby girl based on that calendar. It was just simply amazing and unbelievable!
Fast forward two nights ago, Manette was already in pain. She decided that the best time to get herself admitted to the hospital was during daytime. She based this decision with our two previous kids, both Mariella and Miko were born 12pm and 11am respectively.
As early as 5am yesterday, we got up and prepared for the big event. At 6 in the morning, we were in the admitting section and went up to the labor room. Not much I can do in the labor so I stayed in the room (suite room 2 in BDH). I wanted to sleep since I spent the whole night working on our CSU website adding a new application. I could not sleep though as there are questions in my mind still unsettled. What if this baby is a boy, what should we name him?
I read the Gospel of the day and tried to find some words from GOD on the appropriate name. In the Gospel, Jesus mentioned about David and it was kind of a name that I like. But going through the life of David, I realized that it was as uncharacteristic for the type of a boy the way I want this baby boy to grow…Still, this question what if this baby is a boy remain to be answered.
